Years after his retirement, the New York Yankees legend, Derek Jeter, has become a hot topic in the baseball world. The reason? Well, it has not been even a week since ESPN released the first episode of Jeter’s documentary. And the series has already sparked some controversies.
Jeter and his fellow Yankee Alex Rodriguez have played together for a long time. And whenever there will be a discussion on Jeter’s life, A-Rod will automatically become a part of it. Because these two have shared the locker rooms for over ten years with the New York Yankees. During the 2010s era, Jeter and A-Rod were two of the biggest names in MLB.

Recently, after the release of the first episode of ‘The Captain,’ a former Red Sox star has taken a dig at ESPN over Jeter’s documentary. He even dragged A-Rod into this controversy by remembering an old infamous brawl.
Derek Jeter is still hurting the Boston Red Sox
The rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox is one of the fiercest rivalries in the sporting world. And the Derek Jeter documentary, once again, has heated things between the two sides.
Former Red Sox pitcher Jonathan Papelbon brought back the wild memories between the Yankees and Red Sox and suggested ESPN make a documentary on the ‘real captain.’ By ‘real captain,’ Papelbon meant the former Red Sox captain Jason Varitek, who once had punched A-Rod in his face during an MLB game.
The former Red Sox pitcher shared his opinion via Twitter. “Hey ESPN when y’all are ready to do a documentary on the real captain who whipped A Rods A** let me know,” the tweet said.
