The Texas Rangers dominated the postseason, all thanks to the effort of Adolis Garcia. The outfielder surprised all and, shutting down his doubters, homered it past teams, taking his team to the World Series. As a result, everyone supporting Texas wanted him to continue till the championship win. But there’s already a twist.

Injuries are part of baseball, but sometimes, they affect the progress of both the player and the team. The same seems to be the case for the Texas Rangers in this Fall Classic. On Tuesday night in Game 4, the Rangers had to make it to the field without two of their experienced stars, who are sure to miss the World Series’s remainder course.

In a shocking update, the Rangers have dealt a tremendous blow, losing both Adolis Garcia and Max Scherzer moving out of game four of the series. The update from Ken Rosenthal circulated ahead of the Game 4 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with Texas moving Garcia and Scherzer out of the squad. “We know Garcia is out of the lineup. He took a couple swings in the batting cage and immediately shut it down”, the tweet read. Soon after the news aired, the replacement for both the star players was announced.

It is an enormous blow for the Rangers due to Garcia’s contribution and Scherzer’s support on the field. In 15 postseason games, the 30-year-old scored 11 runs with eight home runs and 22 RBIs, averaging 0.323. He outshined his teammates and looked set to lead the team for the World Series title. In comparison, Scherzer could not play a pivotal role but supported teams with economical pitching, especially in the second win of the season.

Due to this, everyone wanted both players to make a mark in game four. But everything changed and the problem only got bigger, when it was later confirmed that both Garcia and Scherzer were also out of the series. Soon after, Bob Nightengale tweeted that, “Ezequiel Duran to Replace Adolis García and Brock Burke to Replace Max Scherzer for the Remainder of the World Series”.

Given it all happened just before a crucial encounter, it looked like a move against the desired fate for the Texas Rangers. But it seemed that was not the case entirely. Although the Rangers dealt with a tremendous blow, the Arizona Diamondbacks failed to make the most of it to go on the verge of losing the game.

Arizona Diamondbacks With Answer to Marcus Semiem’s Masterclass

The Arizona Diamondbacks did well at home for most of the season until the World Series. They are now on the verge of losing the second home game, trailing 11-5 until the end of the eighth innings. Notably, a big reason for this is Marcus Semien.

The D-Backs failed badly against the star player, who homered and claimed RBIs. Coupled with hitting from Corey Seager, the Rangers dominated the D-Backs. They had to move to the fifth pitching option as early as the fourth inning in search of some respite.

Though it worked, the damage was already done. Texas overcame Garcia’s absence and put enough runs on the board. Later, Andrew Heaney and others covered up Scherzer’s void for a solid defense. Eventually, the Texas beat Arizona 11-7, boasting 3-1 lead in the series.

However, given three games are still left, D-Backs could make a comeback. It would be interesting to see if the Rangers can continue this vigor in upcoming games to win the World Series. What are your take on this? Let us know in the comments.
