Comments on a ‘Gift Basket’ Still Make 5-Time World Series Champion Derek Jeter a “Little Nervous”

Derek Jeter has been probably the best thing to happen for the New York Yankees in the last 20-30 years. Not that he was the best ballplayer in the clubhouse, but Jeter’s presence in the ballparks was enough for the Pinstripes to snatch games from the opponents.

It is rare to find a player of Jeter’s caliber. A 5-time World Champion and a Baseball Hall of Famer, Derek Jeter changed the fate of the New York Yankees after arriving in the Bronx. While playing in the ballparks, Jeter never feared or got nervous during the game. However, there is one thing that makes the Yankees legend nervous.

Notably, for a player as successful as Derek Jeter, it is surprising that a “gift basket” comment would make him nervous. But the Yankees legend admitted himself the same.

Recently, Derek Jeter, AKA The Captain, appeared on a podcast, where he discussed various aspects of his personal and professional lives. While doing so, the podcast hosts promoted Jeter’s clothing brand, “Greatness Wins.”

Although Jeter was glad, when the hosts promoted his clothing brand, the Yankees legend got nervous, when they jokingly asked him to send a gift basket for them.

“Yeah, I am gonna send you some stuff… I get nervous with that the “gift basket” comment. You know, what I am saying?… Next time we will be in person… I will get you guys some product,” Derek Jeter said.

Earlier this year, Jeter joined the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Chris Riccobono to launch a clothing line. The Yankees legend aims to take this athletic brand to the next level.
