The Los Angeles Dodgers have a broad celebrity fan base. Having the opportunity to be based out of Hollywood, numerous famous personalities support the Boys in Blue. And as the team embarks on a new venture, one of them is joining in to lend his superstar status.
After the All-Star break, the Dodgers are playing their first series against the struggling New York Mets. The series’ first game went in the visiting team’s favor as they shut out New York 6-0. While fans at Citi Field enjoyed the game live, Friday Night Baseball for Dodgers fans was streamed on Apple TV. And promoting it was none other than comedian Seth Rogen.

Apple TV recently posted an advertisement to commemorate the second year of its partnership with the Dodgers. Seth Rogen and Luke Macfarlane, Hollywood’s baseball lovers, stood in it. The clip shows them eating a ‘Dodger Dog’ because Rogen says he’s never had it. Judging by others’ reactions, it’s a blasphemous statement.

McFarlane then makes the Superbad actor try it out, but it wouldn’t be a 21st-century experience if a photograph weren’t clicked first. One of their friends urges another to click the duo’s picture as they bite either side of the hot dog. But, of course, more hilarity ensues.
The photographer isn’t ready but turns around in his stadium seat to capture the moment. First, he adjusts the F-stop, but then he needs to switch to a different lens. Finally, the picture is taken, and everyone can enjoy their food peacefully. But no, they would be mistaken.
McFarlane wants someone to click a picture on his phone so that he can send it to ‘Sylvia’ and a resigned Rogen agrees to it. The post is accurately captioned, “It’s time for totally natural, unforced Dodger baseball.”
As it turns out, Seth Rogen has another strange connection to baseball.
Is Rogen a time-traveling baseball player?
From 1974 to 1986, the Kansas City Royals employed a player named Dennis Leonard, who won 144 games for them. In a twist of fate, one of Rogen’s roles makes him look exactly like the ballplayer.
Old Time Family Baseball wrote a hilarious post on it, “Terrifying fact: Seth Rogen is actually a time traveler who was once known as Dennis Leonard, winning 144 games for the Royals from 1974-1986. Please alert your nearest Time Travel Authority Figure should you see Seth Rogen/Dennis Leonard in public and DO NOT approach.”
Perhaps the most exciting fact – Rogen is Canadian and supports the Mets. What do you think of this bizarre connection?
