Vanessa Hudgens is standing up for what she believes in. The High School Musical actress, who is engaged to the Colorado Rockies shortstop Cole Tucker, has been a mainstay in Hollywood for a long time. Gracing people’s screens since the early 2000s, Hudgens has proven the worth of her talent over and over again. And unlike most celebrities, who avoid taking a political stand, Hudgens is taking a different route.
The 34-year-old is a passionate supporter of animal rights. She caused some controversy in 2020 after making comments regarding the seriousness of the pandemic. But the actress has shown how much she cares about her surroundings. And using her platform for good, Hudgens is spreading a message to her millions of fans about animal cruelty.

A few weeks ago, the parliament of Spain passed a bill regarding animal laws that, on the surface, was supportive. However, they exclude hunting dogs and other farm animals from protection, meaning cruelty to them will bear no cause for action. Hudgens shared a series of pictures on her Instagram stories that shared how the bill, if turned into a law, will affect animals.
The streets in Spain’s cities have been taken over by crowds demanding fair treatment for hunting dogs and other farm animals. Hudgens next shared a picture of her own puppy, Darla, captioning the story, “How could anyone hurt a fur babyyy”. And in another story, she wanted her Instagram followers to share pictures of their own dogs to stand against Spain’s recent bill.
The Tick, Tick…Boom! actress added a sticker that said, “Share your pup to show support”, thereby allowing multiple people to add their own photos. She urged people to tag the Spanish Worker Socialist Party Pedro Sanchez, Spain’s Prime Minister, in their pictures so that the impact would be that much stronger.
What else has the actress done to support animal rights over the years?

This statement isn’t just a fluke. Hudgens has actually taken the time and effort to go out of her way to go against animal cruelty wherever possible. The 34-year-old identifies as a pescatarian in terms of food. Although technically a vegetarian, Hudgens keeps seafood a part of her diet.
The Bad Boys for Life actress also founded a cosmetics brand called KNOW Beauty along with actress Madison Beer. The brand makes it a point to not test its products on animals or ask anyone on their behalf to do so.
