One such player that A-Rod interviewed was the 2019 NL MVP, who also became a World Series champion the following year with the LA Dodgers. Notably, the Dodgers star had a remarkable season that year. So, while talking to A-Rod, he shared some tips that led him to win the NL MVP.

For those unaware, the 2019 NL MVP was none other than Cody Bellinger, who is no more a Dodger. Notably, earlier this month, Bellinger signed a new contract with the Chicago Cubs.

What did the ex-Dodgers player tell Alex Rodriguez?

During the MLB’s 2019 season, the Dodgers’ outfielder sat down with Alex Rodriguez and talked about his monstrous swing, which eventually helped Bellinger have an MVP-worthy season.

At first, the Yankees legend complimented Bellinger for having a wonderful first half of the 2019 season. And then he asked about the young player’s vamped swings. To that, Bellinger said“They (the Dodgers) did a great job with me. It was me finding ways through to stay through baseball. And with the way my swing is, when I’m staying through it, it’s naturally going to have the launch angle.”

Notably, 2019 was an excellent year for Bellinger on many levels. Apart from winning the National League MVP, he also went on to win Gold Glove, an All-Star, and Silver Slugger Award. The former Dodgers star also made it to the All-MLB first team that year.

How much did the first baseman sign with the Cubs?

Jumping from a $16 million-a-year contract, Bellinger signed a contract of $17.5 million with the Chicago Cubs. When talking about the Cubs, they did not have a memorable year either in 2022. However, with Bellinger by their side, the NL side will be looking forward to having a better season this year.
