New York Yankees are having probably their worst time this season. No doubt about that. But the Yankees slugger, Josh Donaldson, is having an even worse time from the plate. And not only that, ever since he arrived in the Bronx, the Yankees fans have not liked him even one bit.

Recently, the Pinstripes suffered a massive defeat against their American League rival, the Tampa Bay Rays. And it will not be long before the Rays dethrone the Yankees from the top of the AL East.

When talking about Josh Donaldson, the star third baseman was the biggest signing by the Yanks during the free agency. However, he is proving to be nothing but a liability for the Aaron Boone-led side. During the first game of the series, not only the Rays, but the Yankees fans also trolled Donaldson.

Why do the Yankees fans disown Josh Donaldson?

Leave his batting. Josh Donaldson has been poor in the field too. During the first game of the series against the Rays, he made two errors in the ballpark, which cost a run for the Yankees. The star third baseman has only 12 home runs in his name this season. The Yankees, eventually ended up losing the game 9-0 to the Rays.

Earlier on Friday, the Rays shared a video; In which Donaldson is trolling the Rays’ pitcher Jeffrey Springs. The Yankees slugger was teasing the Rays pitcher to throw another fastball by saying, “You won’t… You won’t.” Little did Donaldson know that Springs had already struck him out on a fastball.

After watching this, even the Yankees fans started trolling their own player and said some things that he might not like.

One fan permitted the Rays to troll Donaldson as much as they want, while another fan even called him a freak. A Yankees fan tweeted they do not claim him. Another fan also joined the Rays and asked them to continue the troll job.

Several tweets showed the hatred toward Josh Donaldson. Notably, this is the worst situation for an athlete when their own fans start trolling them over a couple of mistakes.
