This is true for most hurlers as they go through their careers. Most recently, a Los Angeles Dodgers star pitcher revealed the toughest matchups of his career, and Aaron Judge didn’t make it.

But they have persevered and got good results. One of their star pitchers revealed his most tough matchups as he experiences a good season from the mound.

Clayton Kershaw has had a legendary career thus far and is in the midst of another good campaign. But even a legend like himself has batters that got the better of him. Most recently, Kershaw revealed the 4 hitters that have been the toughest matchups for him. He named Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, and Manny Machado before picking a surprising choice.
His fourth tough matchup was Dexter Fowler, who he had difficulty facing. Kershaw also mentioned that he did not face Aaron Judge enough to include him. The Dodgers’ star pitcher revealed these matchups while talking to teammate Mookie Betts. Brwalkoff shared a video of it on Instagram.

In the video, Kershaw says, “Nolan’s definitely up there. He gets me, man. He’s a really tough out. Goldy. Manny. Manny, when he wants to, can kind of hit. Yeah, just depending on what he’s looking for. He’s got good baseball feel. Dexter Fowler, you remember Dexter? Gahhh. When he was in Colorado, I don’t think I ever got him out. The numbers are bad.” He further said, “I haven’t faced a lot of guys in the AL yet, like Judge or Vladdy. I don’t face those guys enough.”

Kershaw picked 4 extremely talented hitters in his toughest matchups. In the video, he also mentions a couple of other names while lamenting that he hasn’t faced a lot of the American League batters enough. The Dodgers pitcher is having a good season. But fans particularly appreciated one of his appearances after a great personal loss.
Kershaw started a game a few days after his mother’s tragic passing
Clayton Kershaw experienced a tragic loss on 13th May, earlier this year. His mother passed away, leaving the Dodgers pitcher shocked and in mourning. But despite such a massive loss, Kershaw steeled himself and bravely took the mound for his scheduled start on the 17th. Although he did not perform at his best, the Dodgers star showed his heart and soul in this outing. Furthermore, he gained the respect of every fan and player on that day.
