The contest between the New York Mets and the Tampa Bays Rays at Citi Field had some unpleasant scenes. It had everything from screen malfunctioning to fan-booing players. The New York Mets went through a lot in their last game. They had to bear the anger of fans for poor performance and shocking errors beyond their control. A scoreboard shutdown and the emergence of the Rays logo made the situation more difficult for them. ‘Talkin’ Baseball’ shared a post with the caption quoting Anthony DiComo, ” The Mets are losing 7-1 to the Rays, and the scoreboard shutoff for a brief period. When it came back on? there was a Rays logo.”

Even though the Mets did a little better with the bat later on, the damage was already done. The Mets lost it with a score of 8-5. The Rays took the lead early and dominated it as the game progressed. Isaac Paredes did the job and contributed with 5 RBIs and two home runs. He finished the game with an average of 0.667 and an unbelievable OPS of 3.467.

The Mets fought back with an effort from Pete Alonso, but they fell short of the desired result. It was their pitching which let them down. Justin Verlander had a poor game. He pitched in five innings and gave six runs, including two homers to finish it with an ERA of 4.76.

Fans show their displeasure with the Mets

Fans are not happy with the franchise and have shared their displeasure with the overall work. Many fans even claimed that this is the worst franchise in the league.
