Baseball free agency does not always end well, with players sometimes leaving their old teams on bad terms. This is the case with Marcus Stroman, the ace pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. He has been feuding with the New York Mets ever since they opted against signing him in free agency. Most recently, he showed off his $35,000 watch shortly after his latest controversy with the Mets.?

Stroman joined the Cubs in 2021, ahead of the 2022 MLB season. This was after the Mets refused to sign him in free agency. This most recent flex by Stroman comes amidst his latest feud with his former team.

In his latest start, Cubs ace Marcus Stroman, faced off against his former team, the Mets. The star pitcher put up a virtuoso performance, allowing only 2 runs in 8 innings pitched. He celebrated hard after ending the 8th inning, leaving Mets players unhappy. But most recently, he flexed his $35,000 Audemars Piguet watch in an Instagram Story, choosing to ignore the controversy.

In the story, he shared a picture of the watch on his left wrist, flexing it for his 555k followers to see. The Cubs ace loves watches and other accessories, as he has regularly shown off his valued accessories on social media.?

Stroman pitched 8 innings in the game against the Mets and helped his team win. The reactions to his celebrations against his former team have been mixed. Some experts have supported it, whilst Mets players themselves have criticized the pitcher. But despite all the noise surrounding his actions, Stroman focuses on what is important to him.?

Marcus Stroman gifted Triston McKenzie a Rolex after losing a bet

Before the 2022 MLB season started, Marcus Stroman made a bet with Cleveland Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie. He Tweeted at McKenzie saying that he?d buy the pitcher a Rolex if he pitched 160 innings with a 3.7 ERA or lower. McKenzie smashed the challenge with a 2.96 ERA in 191.1 innings pitched. Stroman kept up his end of the bargain, gifting the Guardians pitcher the promised Rolex, leaving fans overjoyed!
