Former Pinstriper CC Sabathia, who shared the field with Captain Derek Jeter and also with the probable next captain of the New York Yankees, was full of praise for Judge recently. Sabathia, like many others, wanted jersey number 99’s player to sign with the Yankees, ending his free agency. When it finally happened, he was among the people who felt relieved watching Judge go back to the Bronx.
What did the former World Champion say about Aaron Judge coming back?
Even though Sabathia believed that there was a high possibility of the slugger Aaron Judge ending up somewhere else, he still desperately wanted him to stay as a Pinstriper.
“I’m glad the drama is over. I didn’t see him going anywhere else, but you just never know in free agency,” said Sabathia. “They (Padres and Giants) were legitimate options, but nothing compares to being a Yankee.”
Now Sabathia and Judge’s fanbase can finally take a breath of relief as the slugger is going to stay in the Bronx for a long time. According to Sabathia, Cashman and Steinbrenner can also build the rest of the roster now that they have the reigning MVP in their corner.
