The Los Angeles wildfire is being estimated to be one of the most expensive natural calamities in American history, with damages set to cross $150 billion. Over 1,000 houses were gutted; the casualties included humans and wildlife, and now, people are coming together to share their helping hand. This includes Freddie Freeman, the first batsman of the Dodgers, who made headlines with his passive participation in the relief activities.

Freeman Freeman is not just known for his baseball stint but also as a well-recognized social activist. So who better than Freeman to come forward in this dire situation? After rescuing the Dodgers in the World Series, he is now helping LA fight the disaster. Freeman recently shared two stories on his Instagram handle where he thanked the firefighters and shared the link for donations, shelters, and pet care for the affected areas.

The way it looks, this activity might seem minimal, but the potential impact it can create is huge. How? Freeman has a good chunk of LA residents in his 1.1 million Instagram followers, and his stories are reaching all of them. So, on the one hand, followers residing in LA are getting emergency contacts and access, while on the other hand, his followers outside LA are now aware and can further contribute to the relief activities. Thus, the social awareness and impact Freeman is creating is huge.

Moreover, Freddie Freeman is not new to off-field activities. Speaking on the same, Dave Roberts, Dodgers manager, once said, “He’s my favorite player to be around, as far as what he does for the culture, the organization, the team.” This reflects his wider focus and going beyond his gameplay. Freeman was also absent from the 82nd Golden Global Awards, citing his children’s health. So, it is an expected move from Freeman this time, and being a Dodgers, he is not ending his role by helping them to win the World Series; rather, he is now helping the state to win against the calamity.
