The New York Yankees have been extremely active this off-season. From re-signing Aaron Judge to a 9-year $360 million deal to bringing in Carlos Rodon, they are making big moves. Furthermore, they have brought in other players through free agency and trade that will look to make an impact.
The Yankees have been making winning moves so far as they look set to compete this year. They recently got another deal over the line that will help them in winning a championship. The deal is not for a player, but for an executive who will join the Yankees’ front office.

The New York Yankees recently announced that they have brought in Brian Sabean as Executive Advisor to the GM Brian Cashman. Sabean has a lot of experience in both scouting and management as well. He managed the San Francisco Giants to three World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014, respectively. Furthermore, he actually began his career as a scout for the Yankees and was responsible for bringing in Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, and Mariano Rivera, among others.

A great addition to the organization—GM’s who only numbers crunchers or head bidders are downward bound. Saves is one of the best baseball minds of the last 50 years

Brian Sabean built the 3 championship teams with the Giants (2010, 2012, 2014), and the Bonds teams in the late 90s/early 00s. Basically he’s had more success over the last 20 years than the guy he’s going to work for.

Yankees have gone big game hunting, call it what you want, but adding Brian Sabean to the braintrust is a great move.

"With the Yankees, he drafted or signed as amateurs the likes of Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, J. T. Snow, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte."

Wild all the comments on here are saying how Saban was the giants dynasty architect. People don't realize how Sabean was the director of scouting for the Yankees in late 80s and early 90s…. instrumental in that 90s dynasty.
