However, with Montas now facing the possibility of missing over a month due to his shoulder inflammation, either Domingo German or Clarke Schmidt will be tasked with filling his role in the rotation at the fifth position.

Following the news of Montas’ injury, fans were quick to express their disappointment and frustration towards the New York Yankees’ front office, specifically calling out the trade orchestrated by General Manager Brian Cashman in 2022. Many have stated that this serves as evidence that no team should trade with the Athletics. And that the Yankees’ injury woes have already begun, even before the start of the season.
