It all began when she celebrated her husband’s official 10-year MLB service anniversary on Instagram. As she wrote, “Here we are, officially hitting your 10 years. I am so proud of you. This game is not for the weak. You have shown time and time again how you will never give up.” She celebrated Carlos by emphasizing how he has beaten the incredible odds time and again: a high school baseball player has only a 0.0277% chance of making it to MLB, and even a college player’s odds are just 0.37%. And this, of course, isn’t the end for the 32-year-old star pitcher. And his wife knows it better than anyone: “The best is a yet to come.”

However, instead of congratulations, she received a boatload of criticism from the frustrated fans. They connected the celebratory post to the ongoing struggle surrounding Carlos on the diamond. Fans quickly began criticizing as soon as the post went live. One even brutally asked Ashley to get her husband’s “head straight”. She didn’t see it coming—any of it!
