The New York Yankees are the most successful team historically. Although playing for the team comes with great pride, it also demands a lot from players. And when one cannot perform up to the caliber and expectation, heavy public scrutiny surrounds them. Carlos Rodon seized this opportunity, albeit with a rough start. First, his injury and then the latest un-inspirational return have made him the center of negative attention.

Moreover, struggles of the Yankees have added to the misery of him. Fans hoped Rodon’s return would help the team to start the second half on a better note. But things have not moved that way, and his latest criticism from every corner makes it more than evident.

Carlos Rodon’s Recent Performance Dragged Him to the Back Cover of the New York Post

Carlos Rodon signed for the New York Yankees on a six-year $162 Million deal. But he failed to play the entire first half barring the last game. Though everyone expected him to do better in the second half, he has failed miserably.

In three starts this season, he has an ERA of 7.36, claiming only 11 strikeouts at a WHIP of 1.432 and has lost all three of his starts. In the last game, he pitched in over four innings and gave over six runs with three strikeouts to his name, losing miserably to the LA Angles.

Talkin’ Yanks addressed the same in their Twitter post. It read,” Back cover of the New York Post.” Focusing on Rodon’s struggle with the Yankees, they wrote, “Rodon, Yanks’ 162 M lefty, shows some thin skins and no command in latest loss.”

The harsh statement synced with the fan’s emotions, who joined with similar voices, adding to the criticism.

Rodon Fails to Prove His Worth to the Fans

It has been a disappointing season for the Pinstripes, who are last in the AL East. Though initially, it was due to the injuries, returnees, including Rodon, have made matters worse, fueling the unstoppable cycle of loss.

Fans who hopped for the otherwise have showcased their unhappiness over the pitcher. The following tweets capture the same emotions.

Few fans have even questioned the signing of Rodon.

Fans’ dejection is immense, rightly so. But as things stand, there is a lot yet to achieve, and a better effort from Rodon can keep the team in line. Will he be able to do so? Only time will tell.
