With MLB teams mustering for a great season ahead, they are announcing their power-packed rosters, changes in jerseys, and designs to hype their appearance in the next season. The Houston Astros is also one of those teams. The reigning world series champion recently updated a shift in their jersey. But it seems like that it did not go right with the fans, making the team a target of brutal mockery.?
The Astros recently announced their partnership expansion with Oxy for the next seven years. According to the recent development, the logo of Oxy will be featured on the jersey sleeve in every regular season and post-season game. For those unversed, Oxy here refers to the international energy company. But since the company’s name resonates with a narcotic, many fans misunderstood and mocked the team.

For the first time ever in the history of Major League Baseball, the league is allowing all thirty teams to have the logo of their paid sponsor on the jersey’s sleeve. With the Angels also hopping up on the opportunity, the Astros aren’t the first to do it. But their sponsor’s name has put the team on fans’ radar.?

Aside from the fact that the sponsor’s name resonates with a drug, the fans chose to mock the team for their cheating which reportedly helped them win their first world series in 2017. In addition to this, they also thanked the team for not putting up the logo of one of their previous owners, Waste Management.?

American League’s Los Angeles Angels, one of the first to have the logo of their sponsor on the jersey sleeve, will have FBM supply as their official jersey patch partner. The San Diego Padres and the Boston Red Sox are the other two teams who will put their sponsor’s logo on their uniform sleeve. The Padres will wear their sponsor’s logo, Motorola, whereas the Red Sox will have the logo of Mass Mutual.?
