Aaron Judge is having a dream run in the current season. He has been the reason the Yankees are dominating the American League. Given his current form, he is on a pace to smash 63 home runs in the ongoing season.
And if Judge continues his tremendous form, he will end the season by breaking a couple of old records. With 22 home runs in just 55 games, Aaron Judge is at the top of the 2022 home-run leaderboard. Although Judge has never focused on records, he might break the 60-year-old record of the Yankees legend Roger Maris. At least that is what Roger Maris Jr. believes.

Roger Maris Jr. is the son of the late Yankees legend Roger Maris. In a recent interview, Maris Jr. said he would not mind if Aaron Judge breaks his father’s iconic home run record. Although Barry Bonds has hit the most home runs (73) in a single season, Maris Jr. does not consider it a real milestone because of Bonds’ alleged consumption of steroids.

Unlike the last season, the New York Yankees have been exceptionally good in the current season. With players like Aaron Judge, Nestor Cortes Jr., and Giancarlo Stanton by their side, the Yankees have the best win record in the entire MLB.
Per New York Post, Roger Maris Jr. said he can not think of someone better than Aaron Judge to beat the iconic record of hitting 61 home runs in a season. Notably, the late Yankees legend, Roger Maris, hit 61 home runs during the 1961 season.
“You don’t want to see anyone get it, but I’d be very happy if Judge did do it,” Maris Jr.said. “Dad always said records are meant to be broken. You don’t want to see Dad’s record go, but if it happened, I can’t think of a better guy to do it.”

“He’s a great Yankee. To do it in New York, how cool would that be? First, we had [Babe] Ruth, then we had Dad, and then to have Judge. That would be pretty awesome. I can’t think of a better storyline.”
Can Judge win the AL MVP this season?
Given his current form, Aaron Judge is the favorite to win the American League MVP Award this season. With 22 home runs in his name, no one is even close to the Yankees slugger. As things stand, his closest competitor, Shohei Ohtani, is also not in his best form.
