Do you have that one outfit you’ll always love; like a favorite jersey or something? Well, guess what – baseball stars, including Derek Jeter, have picked their top choice among hats—and it’s the New York Yankees! In a fun video shared by BatBoysBaseball on Instagram, many players from both major and minor leagues were asked, “What’s your favorite hat worn in your career?” All of their answers were a nostalgic nod to their careers!
We saw Aaron Boone giving a shoutout to the Chattanooga Lookouts with that adorable eyeball logo; Oswaldo Cabrera having his heart on Charleston’s mint and blue special uniform. As for Juan Soto, Derek Jeter, and Gerrit Cole, they picked the Yankees hat as the ultimate favorite. Not too surprising, right? After all, they have always shown love for the Bronx team, and this was just another chance to exhibit their Yankees pride.

The former captain of the Yankees didn’t take long to answer, “Yankees hat? Come on, man!” Well, what else could it be? He is the legend who took the team to 5 championship leagues! Jeter has been with the Yankees the longest, playing 2,747 games for them. Gerrit Cole, too, without even saying many words, was just seen pointing out the Yankees’ iconic hat that he was wearing! The happiness on his face highlighted the young fan in him; but did you know he has been a Bronx fan since he was a child?
While the former players were all in for the iconic hat, the all-rising star, Juan Soto, had a different favorite: it was the Yankees’ St. Patrick’s Day hat, the one they use in spring training! With all the banter around whether or not Juan will sign with the Yankees again, now that he is entering free agency next year, this response has come as a relief to many Yankees fans. So, can we see him in the Bronx, next season too? Well, that can be true; the Yankees do have a special something that has many players stick around.

And that was a sentiment visible once again in this viral clip. Apart from these three baseball stars, Carlos Rodón, Anthony Volpe, Tommy Kahnle, and CC Sabathia were also all in for the Yankees! With so many responses siding with the team, Eric Shellhouse couldn’t stop himself from agreeing with Derek Jeter, as he said, “Can’t beat the classic Yankee hat, right?”

Once a Yankee, always a Yankee, right? While nothing can beat the team’s iconic hat, there’s one thing they have to be careful about now: the recent injuries that might affect this epic spirit!
Monday’s win for the Bronx was a bumpy road!
On Monday, the New York Yankees snagged an exciting 8-4 win over the Texas Rangers! But it wasn’t without its tense moments: ace player Gerrit Cole had to be pulled from the game just before the top of the seventh inning. Cole clutched his right calf while warming up, but that wasn’t the only scare of the game. Rookie catcher Austin Wells took a hard hit in his right wrist area from a pitch just an inning before. He played the entire game but was spotted toughing it out, with many even suspecting a broken bone.

But now, there’s a positive update; the New York Post’s Greg Joyce tweeted, “Gerrit Cole said his calf is a non-issue today. All he needs to do is eat more bananas next time instead.” What a relief! But while Cole is already back to full health, Wells still has to rest for a while, as team manager Boone said, “Wells had X-rays that were negative, but he is sore and that he may need a few days off.” A short break is definitely a win compared to what this injury could’ve resulted in!
However, these health concerns among players might see the Yankees fighting harder in their quest for a World Series; especially now that they have come down one position on the league board, with 80-60! While Derek Jeter has 5 World Championships under his favorite hat, can Soto and Cole add one under theirs? What do you think? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
