Carlos Jorge is a 19-year-old slugger from the Dominican Republic. The Reds signed him up on January 15th, 2021. Jorge signed as an international free agent and began playing at the Reds’ baseball academy in his native land. Now gaining a reputation as a hard-hitting slugger, Jorge has recently gone trending online because of his insane playing capabilities.

Back in the 1970s, the Reds were an MLB powerhouse and boasted legendary players such as Ken Griffey Sr. But since 1990; the Reds have never won a World Series and have not had much regular-season success either. Only except registering wild card berths in 2013 and the pandemic-curtailed 2020 season. Therefore, it’s understandable for the Reds administration to search for fresh legs that can bring life to the team.?

The Dominican Republic has produced some all-time great elite MLB players across generations. Pedro Martinez, Albert Pujols, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, etc. are some of those noteworthy names. Therefore, it might not be wrong to guess that the Reds are now seeing Jorge possibly becoming such a prolific player. Jorge’s batting skills, in particular, have already given glimpses of a promising athlete.?
