Having made the MLB playoffs after 21 years, the Seattle Mariners caused big shockwaves. They entered the wildcard series against the power-packed Toronto Blue Jays. But the Mariners unexpectedly swept the wildcard series against the favorites. The highlight of that series happened to be a walk-off home run by Cal Raleigh.?
Nicknamed ‘Big Dumper’, Raleigh thus played an important part in the Mariners’ qualification into the postseason. Unfortunately, the Mariners got eliminated after losing a postseason series against the Houston Astros. Nonetheless, Raleigh became a hero for his glorious home run. A bunch of school kids celebrated Raleigh’s walk-off slam, and a video of their jubilation went trending, which caught his attention.?
