Baseball’s regular season is about to start and fans have a lot to look forward to. After some interesting moves and good trades made this off-season, things are going to get exciting. One player who’s enjoying the fruits of his labor is Aaron Judge. The 30-year-old is not only the reigning AL MVP but also signed a nine-year, $360 million deal with the Yankees. Plus, he has the honor of being their newest captain after Derek Jeter retired in 2014.
Judge has been a big presence in the Pinstripes organization ever since he made his debut in 2016. A fan favorite, his nature always exudes humility and charm at the same time. The Yankees have honored Judge for his achievements in different ways before – like the time they sold a ’62’ cheeseburger when Judge broke the single-season home run record. For the upcoming season, All-Rise is getting yet another food-related honor!

A burger made of Wagyu patties, cheese, pickles, onions, and a secret sauce, will be available during the regular season for just $20. It will be called the 99 Burger and what’s more, the stadium will only sell 99 pieces at each game.

The mastermind behind the food item is Matt Gibson, the Legends Hospitality senior executive chef. A burger-lover, Gibson created the California-inspired dish for the player from California. Ironically, Judge now plays on the East Coast, but hopefully, this will give him a taste of home!

Fans had mixed reactions to the news
While, of course, this isn’t the first time a sportsperson has had a food item named after them, fans are still on the fence. Some think it’s too pricey and would much rather buy something else with that money.

And the secret sauce is an irksome mystery for everyone.
Who wants to bet that the “Secret sauce” is actually just a Chipotle mayo or something?
