The moment is finally here. After a long battle, MLB has its two World Series finalists, the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Given that it was a dream to watch the teams face each other in the finals again, the eyes of every baseball fan have lit up, including stars like Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, and the panelists at Fox, who had predicted this to happen at some point. But it seems Jeter is not enjoying this.
Notably, the former Yankees captain registers his presence in the studio during the All-Star game and post-season. Not been a part of it regularly, Derek Jeter has his limits set, often crossed by A-Rod and Big Papi. It seems the same happened lately as Captain Clutch brought up a Tailor Swift reference to roast and remind his fellow panelists about it. The three star MLB players have played with each other and against, hence have a great understanding of each other. With friendship adding another chapter, the conversations often become banters; during the NCLS game six, Jeter was caught pulling the legs of Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz.
When asked about a day off the five-time World Series champion, Derek Jeter had an interesting answer: “I took my girls to the Taylor Swift concert. I got a chance to hang out with a bunch of teenagers and toddlers. Very similar to what I do here at FOX.” Certainly an interesting take but not surprising – considering Jeter’s nature, he is a big fan of the drama, whether it’s the Taylor Swift concert, or at the Fox studio with Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz.

However, given Taylor Swift’s popularity amongst the New York Yankees, “the teenagers and toddlers” reference is more shocking and in contrast. Multiple star players, including Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge, are on the Swifties list. They have attended concerts and take inspiration from her songs. Thus, this take from Derek Jeter can prompt a reaction, with fans already responding to the statement from the one-team man.
Fans speak their minds as Derek Jeter scores a point after his brutal take

Is Derek Jeter's Taylor Swift jab a sign of deeper tensions with A-Rod and Ortiz?

The postseason is known for the fireworks on the field but off the field too, especially when the trio of Jeter, A-Rod, and Ortiz are involved. Due to their light-hearted banter, fans love every moment. A similar thing happened when Derek Jeter trolled his fellow panelists, with one fan pointing out how he uses every opportunity to roast his colleagues.
Jeter never misses.

Another user equated Jeter’s post-season performances while sharing their thoughts on his statement.
Papi doesn’t like him. It’s so obvious.

Few fans loved this and held that Jeter’s wittiness was something they adored. However, one commenter did not enjoy his take, criticizing Derek’s sense of humor in the comments below that post.
Jeter is the least funny person ever.

The same message was followed by many, with another unsatisfied fan calling Derek Jeter out. They noted how Jeter’s take was unbelievable – admitting to visiting a Taylor Swift concert, and yet, trying to roast his colleagues in an uncalled comparison.
Can’t believe he admitted to going to a Taylor Swift concert on live tv and somehow thought he was insulting his colleagues

Another user echoed this very sentiment but went a step further. They rebuked Derek Jeter, highlighting his apparent
“superiority complex” while mentioning how Jeter himself lacks in sportsmanship when compared to the other stars present on the panel, A-Rod and Ortiz.Funny for Jeter to have such a superiority complex when he’s the worst player sitting at that desk
