In the bottom of the eighth inning, Elvis Andrus was out at home plate. But a video replay determined that Rangers catcher Jonah Heim obstructed his way and the run was allowed. As a result, the Texas-based team lost the game. Furthermore, Rangers manager Bruce Bochy was shocked by the call. A Twitter handle, Bally Sports Southwest shared a video on Twitter of Bochy’s post-game reaction, calling it a shame.

The call genuinely shocked the NL West-leading manager. During the interview, Bochy said, “For that call to be made… I’m dumbfounded. It’s absolutely one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen and it was done by replay, I just don’t get it.”

Fans have reacted in support of the Rangers as well.

Other fans harshly criticized the call.

Furthermore, to add insult to injury, Bochy was ejected for arguing against the call. This is the second time in less than a week that he has been tossed from a game. The call being overturned was the wrong one, according to several experts and insiders. It is a sad loss as the team also attracts attention for their stand on pride night.

The Rangers suffered a tough call earlier this week

Earlier this week, the Rangers were on the bad side of an umpire’s call once again. Star infielder Marcus Semien was on a 3-2 count when he checked his swing on a low changeup. But the umpire called him out. This was at the bottom of the seventh inning and made a huge difference in the game. Furthermore, Semien was ejected for arguing with the call. Shortly after his pitching coach, Mike Maddux, and manager Bruce Bochy were also ejected for protesting the call. The game ended in a 5-3 loss for the Rangers.
