The New York Yankees’ decline continues. Amid a dismal season, the club currently stands 50-47 at the bottom of AL East. Numerous excuses exist – a roster plagued by injury, rookie players, and unexpected slumps. Furthermore, the absence of the captain has lowered team morale. But none have been enough for fans demanding a front office change more vehemently than ever.
Criticism of Brian Cashman’s haphazard roster and Hal Steinbrenner’s poor decision-making has been rampant. Aaron Boone is also usually thrown into the mix for his managerial ability. But for once, fans are standing up for him in a surprising turn of events.
Aaron Boone Takes Responsibility For the Current Situation

To Bronx fans, Aaron Boone’s repeated hollow promises sound like a broken record. Even the Yankees’ manager admitted it, revealing what he thinks of the current state of the team. “We stink right now. We acknowledge that,” he conceded in a recent interview after the Los Angeles Angels swept the Yankees for the first time since 2009.
The outcome of the game was not what many were expecting, least of all the players, it seemed. In an uncharacteristic display of aggravation, relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle let out his frustration on a dugout fan. Referring to the moment, Boone made some allowances for his player, referring to his own days as a player and how he used to break his helmet.
He ended by saying that everyone’s different and is allowed to vent however they see fit, and that they should ‘be authentic’. When one fan took issue with that, it turned into an unexpected viral Twitter war.
New York Yankees Fans Want the Focus to Be on Brian Cashman, Not Boone
Talkin’ Yanks’ Jake recently posted a video where he takes offense to the ‘be authentic’ statement. “Be authentic? You’ve neutered every player in the org…you guys threw that out the window years ago,” he says. The podcaster also refers to Josh Donaldson and his current struggles, but most fans think the statement about Boone is wrong.
Some fans said, it’s Brian Cashman who needs to take accountability first and foremost and be removed from the team. Some even went so far as to say that Boone would be the wrong guy to fire right now.

Let’s blame Boone for Cashman giving him a terrible roster, Jakey Boy.

How about cashman??? It’s a lack of talent everything isn’t on Boone

Some called out the front office and players altogether.
Everyone arguing in the comments ab who to blame between cashman and Boone when the answer is both. It’s an entire organizational failure from Hal to Cash to Boone to the players who take the field every day.
