There has been nothing good for the New York Yankees this season. They have struggled badly and are languishing last in the AL East. They are not in the scenario of making it to the playoffs, which has disappointed the fans. Given that it has happened even after the Yankees spent close to $300 million in wages, fans have blamed the Yankees GM Brian Cashman for this failure. They have accused him of not listening to the fans’ voices. But it seems there is finally a change.

In the latest conversation hours after rumors of Derek Jeter joining the front office shaped, Cashman tried to make amends for his failure. He accepted his mistakes and synced with fan emotions. But he contracted again, making fans feel cheated. Fans who were once hopeful of a positive change. But it disappointed them as they reflected it in their reactions to social media.

Acceptance from Brian Cashman comes with conflicting emotions

Brian Cashman has faced criticism from the fans all the season. Starting with the first few weeks, things have not gone well for the GM. However, even after that, he never accepted his mistakes and tried to make false equivalences. But for a change, he changed his stance and addressed fans’ concerns in a message for them.

Journalist Max Goodman shared his statements on social media. It read, “Brian Cashman on his message to fans: I hear them loud and clear. We’re disappointed too. He recognized that the #Yankees have a minute chance of making the playoffs the rest of the way.”

He further added, “More from Brian Cashman: I don’t think there’s anyone on this planet that felt that the New York #Yankees as constructed leaving spring training wasn’t a playoff contending team … shit happens … we have a mess on our hands.” 

Brian’s message was on similar lines to the fan’s thoughts. It also addressed their concerns about not making the right start, especially with a spring training miss.

But Cashman later contradicted himself and left fans confused. He said, “We’re not mathematically eliminated yet, but we’re certainly in a bad spot,” This confusing take left the Yankees fanbase angry. 

Fans fail to acknowledge Cashman’s appeal

The Yankees are in a mess this year. And the fans have put the blame on the management, which has failed to perform its job, including Cashman.
