With a budget and squad, everyone expected the New York Yankees to be dominant this season. But the opposite has happened, and the ongoing season has brought them under much criticism. Currently placed last in the AL East, the Yanks have struggled in every department. But the problems in the outfield have taken over the scenes, and with the team losing because of it, they have put the question forward on the player selection.
It comes after Aaron Boone tried different players in the outfield and failed to get a positive return. They asked him a similar question. He accepted the mistake and answered the question with an indirect request for GM manager Brian Cashman.

The Yankees still need to garner positive returns. The problem has only increased since Aaron Judge got injured, and the team could not perform up to the mark. The Yankees skipper finally accepted this problem weeks after denying it.
Talkin Yanks shared a clip on Twitter, in which the skipper had his words on the outfield struggles so far. The entire conversation started with the question from Jomboy if the front office is listening or not. He then questioned Boone about the exact number of left fielders used by him since 2021. Though Boone had a fair answer, but was seven short of 20.

Notably, the Yanks have played 20 in total. And 13 players with five or more games, still have failed to garner positive results. Adding to it, Jomboy asked, “If that’s the way your brain was working. So now would you think it would be easier if you just kind of had a guy?” To which Boone had a one-word answer “Yeah.”
Though his answer was simple, it indirectly requested GM to help him in the situation, which is still not improving. The latest example was when three fielders failed to catch the ball. It points toward the need for a left fielder for the Yankees.
Billy McKinney had a 90% catch rate on this ball.
Harrison Bader had a 70% catch rate on this ball.
It dropped.

The Yankees GM also hinted towards addressing it with a signing with offense in mind. It started the conversation of Juan Soto joining the Yankees. But, fans hardly believe the management for it.
Fans Claim Not in the Hands of Boone
Though Yankees fans disagree with Boone, when it comes to the squad, they think he is not the culprit. The same was seen in their reactions to the indirect appeal from Boone.
Here are a few of the tweets on the same.
I have my problems with Boone but the roster being poorly constructed isn’t on him

They weren’t taking a shot at Boone, it was strictly toward cashman😂😂

I think some here in the comments missed the point. This wasn't a dig at Boone. It was a dig or nudge towards Cashman

Sounds like it’s a Cashman problem…

Fans have agreed with the need for a prominent left fielder. They have also called it a Cashman’s mistake and job to make a better squad.
