Every baseball season commences with the chance of minor-league players getting the opportunity to make their debut in the big league. When it happens, a wave of cheer goes around every fan to see their team do their best with the addition of another amazing player to the roster. This is precisely what happened when the New York Mets, pulled their minor league player to join them in the regular season. However, as soon as this news came out, once again, waves of cheer started to spread around New York City. Among the people cheering was the NFL’s New York Jets star player, Garrett Wilson, who, by the way, is also the childhood friend of Mets young star Brett Baty. 

The Jets’ wide receiver is excited for the Mets’ third baseman Brett on being called up to the Majors. Like other baseball fans, Wilson is showing and sharing his excitement with the world by taking it to this social media.

MLB’s National League franchise, New York Mets, has played 16 games so far this season and lost 6 of them. The Mets currently stand at the second position in the NL East and, along the way of this regular season, realized that they needed some young talent for a championship-winning season. Hence, they called third baseman Brett Baty from the minors after he made his MLB debut in the middle of August 2022.

The 23-year-old star player showed his talents by hitting his first home run at his first at-bat in the big league. By doing so, he became the fifth player in Mets history to hit a homer in his first career MLB at-bat. Baty had 38 at-bats playing for the Mets, with two home runs in his corner in 2022. 

The young star is set to begin his second season in the big league, and has already set up high expectations for himself. As soon as this news came up, NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year 2022, Garrett Wilson, became the first of the many to act as a cheerleader for the Mets’ slugger. 

How did Garrett Wilson react to the Mets’ news?

Like countless other New York Mets fans, NFL star Garrett Wilson took to Twitter to show his happiness towards Baty being called up. As the athlete shared the news on his Twitter handle, he wrote, “LFG!!!!!!!” The words may be fewer, but the star’s excitement at watching Brett play is much more.
