Emotional Barry Bonds Recalled His Inspiring Father After an MVP Win

Barry Bonds have had multiple MVPs to his name. All this became possible because of his hard work and practice, which helped him defeat the odds. And being a father, Bobby had a crucial role in guiding Barry to achieve all this.

Though it put him under pressure for performance, it made him capable of achieving greatness. And when his father was not alongside him during one such achievement, Bonds was in agony. However, while accepting the accolade, he credited his teacher and father.

On page 96, book author John Bloom described this episode. It read, “Bonds told reporters after learning of the honor that this particular award stood out as the most meaningful one he has ever earned.”

Recalling his father’s role in his life, the emotional Bonds account read, “This is more special to me than any award I’ve ever received because it’s dedicated to my father. He has been my hitting coach my entire life, ever since I was a little kid. I miss him dearly. It’s a really emotional time for me right now.” Barry Bonds’ emotions were truly touching that day, after a testing start to his baseball journey.

A Test of Perfection Which Bonds Passed for All the Success

Bonds have many records, including the most home runs in a single season. Though it looked easy, it came only after he fulfilled the test of perfection with hard work.
