Juan Soto knows a thing or two about different fanbases. At just 25, he has played in three different major league teams. However, while his stints at the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres were memorable, the New York Yankees presented a whole different experience. The massive fanbase that accompanies the Bronx Bombers momentarily shook even the great Soto. As a result, he can’t help but be mesmerized by the presence of the Bronx Faithful.

After the Yankees completed the series sweep on the Minnesota Twins, Soto talked about his future in the Bronx Bombers. Though the superstar claimed that his doors were open, he also noted that he needs an entire season to grow accustomed to a team. However, when asked about his experience with the Pinstripes Soto dropped some interesting words.

“They just have a massive fanbase.  I think its way bigger than both teams I’ve been in,” Soto said about the Yankees supporters. “Washington have a great fanbase, San Diego have a huge fanbase but I think here, it’s just been great. It’s just a massive fanbase. That’s the biggest difference for me.”

Since the beginning, the Dominican superstar has been inspired by the Yankees’ fanbase. While in the Padres and Nats Soto had good regional support, the Yankees have provided him with a worldwide supporter base. The fact that he himself grew up a Bronx Bombers fan shows how deep the connection goes. As a result, it isn’t surprising that Soto has found himself relating to the fans.

However, Juan Soto’s experience in New York extends beyond his clubhouse. The star has revealed his feelings while living in the Greatest City in the World.

How New Yorkers won over Juan Soto due to their culture

Juan Soto couldn’t help but praise the fanbase for their constant support. Despite the distance, the Yankees fanbase always travels to different cities to witness their team in action. That’s something that has affected Soto. “The fanbase has been amazing. Not only in New York, they’ve been all over, in every stadium we go…They go crazy everywhere we go,” Soto said.

The superstar then explained why it’s been easy for him to adjust in the Big Apple. “New York feels great, it’s a lot of culture, a lot of Hispanic culture and everything,” Soto said. I’ve been feeling good so far, in the stadium, and the clubhouse.”

Clearly, New York has won Soto’s heart. Now can that lead to him choosing them over others during his free agency? Han Steinbrenner certainly hopes it does.
