Texas Rangers are on a high after winning the World Series for the first time in history. With the team successfully breaking their decades-long title drought, they are now looking to create a dynasty. The Lone Stars want to create more history by becoming the first team in 24 years to do the unthinkable, especially after dethroning the Houston Astros the way they did in October. Not leaving any stone unturned for this purpose, Texas is in hot pursuit of Shohei Ohtani.
The biggest free agent in baseball is looking to sign a massive contract and according to reports, the Rangers are close in the race. But does Shotime want to come to Texas?

It’s a known fact that most major franchises are after the Japanese superstar. The race is massive with the biggest of teams butting heads to get Shohei Ohtani’s attention. But it has never been clear what is on the two-way phenom’s mind. Well! it seems at least some of his thoughts have been revealed to the world. As Michael Bier tweeted following ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Ohtani is interested in three teams and the Rangers are one of them.
Shohei Ohtani has “expressed affinity” for three teams, per @JeffPassan.

The other two teams according to Passan are the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. The news spread like wildfire and sent the entire baseball fanbase into a frenzy. With Ohtani’s free agency being the talk of the town, his going to the Rangers is something that has left most fans salivating. As it stands, we could be looking at all three AL MVP finalists playing in the same team in 2024.
Mindblowing? Certainly! While the Rangers already have big star players like Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, signing Ohtani would be a massive watershed moment for the franchise. The team which just two years ago had lost more than 100 games will be closer than ever to actually doing the unthinkable and successfully defending their championship.
Although they may have to empty out their pockets for a two-way player who won’t pitch in 2024, the risk seems worth the cost to many. What are the fans saying?
Frenzy on the internet as fans salivate about the prospect
Rangers fans were quick to react to this news. Beyond ecstatic, they have already started dreaming about the potential lineup Texas can have.
One fan put into words just how incredible that batting lineup would be.

Rival fans too joined the party but with a comment to deflate the excitement.
If he joins Texas or the Dodgers any championship he wins will have zero meaning .

One is speculating whether this is his Lebron James moment. The NBA star went on to win two championships with the Miami Heat.
Is that his LeBron to the heat moment?
