New York Yankees’ Josh Donaldson is the latest addition to the IL. On Saturday, the 37-year-old player strained right calf he sustained while running out a ground ball against the Rockies. Several media reports confirmed the latest development in his injury.

Talkin’ Yanks shared the news on Twitter, writing, “Josh Donaldson’s calf strain is a high enough grade that it’s considered a tear. He doesn’t have a timetable to return and doesn’t know if he has a shot to make it back this season” Nevertheless, the worry lingers: Is the injury significant?

Per the New York Daily News’ Gary Phillips, the Yankees’ third baseman’s right calf tear garnered two opinions. Either the injury is a Grade 2-plus or Grade 3. Although the team cliched a 6-3 victory against the Rockies, the Yankees made the decision to place Donaldson on the 10-day injured list on Sunday.

Moreover, when he was asked about his return to this season, Donaldson said, “I don’t know.’

Earlier this season, the three-time All-Star Donaldson was placed on the Injury List on April 5 and returned on June 2. As a result, he missed 51 games due to his right hamstring strain. Following his resurgence, he has encountered difficulty with his performance. This has led to mixed emotions among fans.

Yankees Fans Found an Opportunity in Donaldson’s Recent Injury

Donaldson’s performance in this season has been weird. He has hit ten home runs and made 15 RBIs, but his batting average has dropped to 0.142. The fans are not liking his performance and have posted their opinion on Twitter.
