Furthermore, he led the team through some difficult years but never made excuses. Jeter recently shared his advice on being a true leader while acting as a brand ambassador for American Family Insurance. Tony Froelich, the owner of the company, shared Jeter’s thoughts via Twitter.

In the Tweet, Froelich said, “Looking to become the best leader you can be? Learn from one of the greatest leaders in baseball — our Brand Ambassador Derek Jeter.” He then shared Jeter’s words “Being a good leader means putting what you say to action, and more importantly get to know who you are leading”.

Aaron Judge was recently named the New York Yankees’ next captain and Derek Jeter was there for the announcement. Furthermore, Jeter has passed the torch to Judge and given the new captain his blessings. Notably, the position has remained empty since Jeter retired in 2014, but Judge was probably the best candidate for the job.
