It was the same with the former shortstop. Months before the former shortstop retired from the Major Leagues as a New York Yankee, he sat down with a reporter from ESPN and talked about things other than baseball.
Those things included Jeter’s love for the theater and how he could easily spend his time watching movies. However, it is not clear how often he goes now, but when he was still a bachelor, he used to go to the movies a lot, especially in the offseason. One of the things that he talked about was his favorite movies of that time and what he loved about them.
What were the movies that baseball legend Derek Jeter listed as his favorite?
Jeter called himself a movie person. He also said that he used to go out three to four times a week if any new movies were coming out. One other thing that he mentioned was that he went to see the movies without any disguise on.
“You go during the week in the afternoon—no one is there,” Jeter said. “It is one of my favorite things to do.”
At that time, the movie that was at the top of Jeter’s list was ‘American History X.’ To him, this movie showed how people can change, and how they are the products of their environments. Then came ‘Major League,’ and it was the one that Jeter saw while being pretty young. Then came The Shawshank Redemption, The Five Heartbeats, Scarface, The Shining, etc.
