The Atlanta Braves are having a great season. They are leading the National League East with 62-33. Although the team boasts some of the best players, one particular player has caught the eye for his storming performance.

The Braves’ first baseman, Matt Olson, has been questioned many times for his low swing rate. However, his stats show a completely different picture. As per the latest statistics, Olson is leading the home runs since All-Star Game placing him in the competition against Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

Matt Olson joined the Atlanta Braves in March of last year. He signed an eight-year contract for a whopping $168 million. However, his transfer to the Braves raised questions as he struggled with his strike rate. Finally, Olson has given a hard reply to his critics with his impressive home runs.

After the All-Star Game last year, Olson has hit home runs at an astonishing speed. During his recent game, he outstripped Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani with his second home run against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

As per the Codify’s tweet, he has hit 51 home runs since the 2022 All-Star Game. Whereas the Yankees captain and Angles’ two-way phenom are at 50 home runs each in the same duration.

Nevertheless, there are additional variables that have contributed to this figure. To begin with, Aaron Judge has been sidelined for nearly two months’ worth of games because of his toe injury. Secondly, Shohei Ohtani’s absence from the games has been frequently due to his blister and finger injury.

Given all that, Matt Olson is in toe to toe competition with both of his competitors. It is not just the figures from last year’s All-Star Game; Olson is also closing on Ohtani in home runs this season. He is in the second spot with 32 home runs.

While Matt Olson and Shohei Ohtani are fighting for the best in home runs with a difference of three home runs, Aaron Judge’s wagon has been halted at 19 due to his injury. The fight now remains between Olson and Ohtani.

Although Ohtani is leading in home runs, Olson is at the top in RBIs. The latter has reached 80 RBIs, in comparison with the former’s 76.
