Legendary slugger Alex Rodriguez has been selected to be honored in the MLB Hall of Fame again via a game of ballots. Being a Hall of Famer is any slugger’s ultimate goal; and Rodriguez proved himself to be worthy enough to make the ballot three times, supported by his golden track record. The ex-baseballer will be contending against the likes of Bobby Hunter and Torii Hunter to be voted into the most prestigious powerhouse of the MLB franchise.
A-Rod, a ten-time Silver Slugger awardee, almost got inducted twice before. As the 2024 season looms just around the corner, the poll that will decide it all has nominated him once again. Just one question remains in the wake of the ceremony: will he be able to garner enough votes to secure the honor this time?

Adrian Beltre emerges as a potential contender to surpass A-Rod in this category and secure his place. The Dominican Republic international has been a standout figure of his era, boasting an impressive career with over 3,000 hits. Joining Beltre on this list are Manny Ramirez and Atlanta Braves’ Andruw Jones. Notably, this might be the ultimate opportunity for Gary Sheffield. The roster of new candidates introduces names like former New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon, Jose Bautista, and Matt Holliday.

A-Rod previously made it to the HOF ballots two times consecutively—once in 2022 and then again in 2023. He was not inducted because of a considerable absence of votes in his favor. A-Rod received 34.3% of the votes for the 2022 season, which is more than half below the required 75% threshold. In 2023, he gained around 35.7% support from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, which, once again, proved to be too little to matter. What will become of him in the upcoming polls?

For the 2024 selections, Alex Rodriguez has been predicted to receive a disappointing 37% vote, according to CBS Sports. Then again, predictions are predictions. The final polling announcement is to be made on January 23, next year. Until then, nothing can be considered as being set in stone. Now, let’s wait and watch if his contribution to the MLB proves to be worthy enough to earn him his Hall of Fame glory at last.
