Kasumba Dennis, an 18-year-old from Uganda, finally arrived in the land of the free and the home of the brave to realize his dreams. Passionate about baseball since a young age, the teenager became famous for his unique methods of working out because he couldn’t afford a gym. The power of the internet prevailed and Kasumba became an online sensation. He dreamed of playing his beloved sport in Major League Baseball one day, but the journey wasn’t quite so easy.

After the tireless efforts of many, the USA finally approved his visa, and a few days ago, Kasumba arrived here. He will play in the MLB Draft and is already raising speculation about his future team. The Baltimore Orioles stand as the top choice.

Kasumba Dennis has a night of baseball with the Baltimore Orioles

Days after making the journey from Uganda to the USA, Kasumba finally attended his first MLB game last night. The game held between the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards. It was a tense series, but the Orioles managed a win. Enjoying the display of professional baseball in the stands was, of course, Kasumba Dennis.

He posted a picture of himself outside the ballpark’s gates, giving a peace sign to the camera with both his hands. Dressed in gray sweats and a red t-shirt, with sunglasses dangling from it, he looked happy to be there. After all, who wouldn’t be living their dream like he is? In the same regards, the Orioles put up an enthusiastic comment under the post.

The Orioles said, “Enjoy your first game!!” and fans are wondering if they will be the first ones to draft him. As of now, Kasumba just debuted for the Frederick Keys, a Maryland-based collegiate summer baseball team.

For Kasumba Dennis, playing his first baseball game was “very good”

For many, dreams are easy to have because they’re just that ? dreams. For the lucky few, hard work and effort pay off as their imagination becomes reality. Kasumba Dennis is one of them who finally played his first baseball game in America. Nervousness, anxiety, excitement? He felt it all, but most of all, the young Ugandan wanted to show everyone his skill.

Coming from playing on rough terrains to professional stadiums sounds like the plot of a movie but Kasumba made it all come true. “My first game was very, very good because I faced a pitcher who threw 95 [miles per hour ? about 153 kph], yeah. And I hit it. I need to hit because I am here to hit, to show my skill, I am ready to hit. I want to show I can hit. I want to show them I can throw,? he said recently.

MLB as well as baseball fans are certainly excited to see what this young man can do. It will be a career trajectory to follow because Kasumba Dennis is just getting started.
