As the 2024 spring approaches, it becomes more and more likely that the Yankees will have some of their incumbent baby bombers on the field. Names such as Everson Pereira, Jasson Dominguez, and Spencer Jones are some of the most prized players on the farm. Well clearly, two of them are “making loud contact”.

Baseball America posted an impressive stat on their official Instagram page tracking and ranking the prospects. Captioning it with a “BOOM 💪💥“ followed by “These prospects are making loud contact. We tracked the top average exit velodrome of Top 100 prospects”, the post showed how two Yankees stood at the top. Spencer Jones and Everson Pereira.

Jones tied with Pereira on the top of the chart with an impressive 93.8mph upon calculating the average exit velocities. The fact that two Bronx Bombers stole the show indicates that the Yanks are doing something right in nurturing talent at a young age.
The list was also adorned with rummer ups Dylan Crews from the Washington Nationals and Owen Cassie from the Chicago Cubs. The two boasted a velocity of 93.3mph, right behind the Bronx prospects by a significant margin. And in the fifth position is Bryce Elridge from the San Francisco Giants who boasts a velocity of 92.4mph. With that, it is important to look at how the two leading Yankees got here.

Pereira and Jones Pave Are Proof That the Yankees Are Nurturing the Farm Well
As per Baseball America’s evaluation of prospects for 2024 too the 22-year-old Jones and Pereira led the ranks. Pinstripesnation.com even called the former the “Crown jewel of the farm” who stood 2nd with an impressive No. 46 overall ranking. Following him was Pereira who stood 3rd, No. 67. The leading man in the list was Jasson ‘The Martian’ Dominiguez at No. 16.

The Bronx’s prominent outfielder, Jones etched a mark in the Doubt-A with 16 home runs, 66 RBIs and batting average of .267. Pereira on the other hand, though got a taste of playing in the big leagues encountered some troubles offensively while adapting to the major league environment. However, he shows promise. With both these super prospects in the team, the Yankees’ future seems bright.
