Atlanta Braves’ disappointment is profound. Thursday night, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked the Braves out of the playoffs with a 3-1 win. Game 4 of their NLDS marked the Phillies’ 2nd straight NLCS berth. With that, the time has come for the Braves to pack their bags and head home. One player in particular, though, had a deafeningly loud silence.
During the clubhouse gathering of the Atlanta Braves, this potential MVP’s reaction was nothing short of eerie. While the other player did their media due diligence and stood responsible for what unfurled for the Braves, Ronald Acuna Jr. took off. Apparently, he had to go catch a bus.
Was It a Weak Move or Just Frustration for the Atlanta Braves?

Acuña’s game had a 0 for 4. He walked twice and was struck by a pitch one time. In addition to that, he scored three runs and batted .143 for the whole series. He was robbed on a deep ball hit to left center with the bases loaded. It’s hard to ignore that there were negative tweets about how Acuna showed poor sportsmanship while the rest of the team stood accountable for their playoff fiasco. Not a classic Acuna move!
Ronald Acuña Jr. didn’t speak after the game. He grabbed his bag and said “I have to go to the bus” as other players remained in the clubhouse

The Braves held the lead position in the league when it came to run total. So much so that they finished the regular season with the highest record. They had high expectations for their World Series ambition. And then, for their subsequent consecutive year, they lost the battle to the Phillies in four games in the National League Division Series. That’s painful, and by avoiding the press and difficult questions, Acuna did not set a great example.
With this action of nonchalance getting some spotlight, the fans took to Twitter to express their opinions.
Fans Spoke Up for Ronald Acuna Jr.
Supporters of this 25-year-old said that it was okay for him to do what he did, considering that this was one of the poorest losses the franchise has dealt with. While others spoke of him critically. But where does Acuna stand amidst all this? Ranging from naming the playoffs as rigged to calling it the most disappointing ending to a season, the fans said it all.
Some had strong opinions about the Atlanta Braves as a whole.
This team was the best team in all of baseball by 3 games and that includes taking a 2 week vacation to end the year. They lost in a playoff series. So did the other top teams in baseball. This isn’t the other leagues, the best team usually doesn’t win it all

One fan stood by Acuna empathetically, blaming the media for being intrusive.
Maybe don’t stick a mic in their face right after a season ending loss🤷🏼♂️

More supporters joined, saying that Acuna did nothing wrong.
If anything, it makes me love him more. If I just lost in the playoffs I'd be pissed and not want to talk too.

Few other fans said that players don’t owe anything to the media.
Get off your high horse. The players don’t owe anyone anything. Plus, can’t blame some of them for being a little upset with the media this week.

Amidst this, it is impossible that fans didn’t throw shade at the Phillies.
I am totally with him.. MLB needs to eliminate the wild card cause its rigged so that wild card teams win cause they have all the momentum! I am so livid that the Philthies won Bryce Harper and the Phillies can jump off a cliff for this win!

Some others indicated this to be “true leader” behavior cheering him with an Atta-boy.
True leadership. Atta Boy
