Despite a successful first segment of his career and being the 2020 NL Cy Young Awardee, Trevor Bauer reached the wrong side of the headlines after facing assault allegations in June 2021. And once these allegations were confirmed, Bauer received a 324-game ban, which extended across the 2022 season.
However, in April 2022, after an appeal, Bauer’s suspension got reduced to 194 games. And to the 2018 All-Star’s luck, the Dodgers decided to reinstate him, despite his season-long absence. Now, as the 2023 season approaches, it means a comeback for the 31-year-old. But some members is the Dodgers clubhouse wish otherwise. And a comeback may not be easy for Trevor Bauer, especially when the same team that reinstated him wants him gone. And this emotion is completely seconded by fans.

As reported by MLB Insider Jon Heyman, and seconded by the B/R Walk-Off, the Dodgers are planning to release Bauer because “some in their clubhouse prefer him elsewhere.” Naturally, after Bauer’s scandalous 2021 assault allegations, not many teams would want to have him in their bullpen, the Dodgers included.

As a result, the Dodgers front office is preparing to pink-slip Trevor Bauer, despite his decent numbers over the years, and a late-career surge in 2020.
However, fans are more than happy with Bauer being gone and largely distant from their franchise – which explained their prompt and celebratory response to the potential dismissal of the righty-pitcher.
This is how fans reacted:
Astros will sign him

There’s a video of Mookie walking by Bauer in the dugout….there was no doubt about how Mookie felt!

Even without the allegations, this is a familiar story with Bauer; no matter where he goes, none of his teammates like him. High school, UCLA, Arizona, Cleveland and now the Dodgers — every clubhouse can't wait to get rid of him.

Some in the clubhouse. Most do not even know him since this is basically a new team.

Im supposed to believe the guy that broke the arson judge to the giants news, yeah I don’t think so

If it’s due to the distraction, I get it. But be consistent & protest the acquisition of players who were actually proven guilty in domestic violence yet didn’t get near the suspension that Bauer got. Consistency shouldn’t be too much to ask.

No one wanted him in the dugout. A huge, unnecessary distraction.

What are they waiting for? The decision has to be made by 1/6, not on it, right?
Are they trying to trade him?

It is worth mentioning that in early 2021, prior to the sexual assault allegations, Bauer signed a three-year contract with the Dodgers. He was leading the National League in strikeouts and innings pitched until he was placed on administrative leave on July 2. The subsequent hiatus has had a lasting impact on his now-stained MLB career.
Why did Trevor Bauer not play in 2022?
Notably, after being in violation of the MLB’s MLB’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy, Bauer faced a 324-game suspension (which eventually turned into 194 games).
