With 27 World Series Championships, the New York Yankees stand as the most successful Major League franchise across North America. However, the recent history of the Pinstripes strays them further away from the Yankee-like archetype. Notably, since 2009, which is when the Yankees last won the World Series under captain Derek Jeter, they have failed to make a significant success. And since another postseason failure, chatter to make changes in the front office, Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman in particular, has exponentially increased.

This year in 2022, the Bronx Bombers reached the American League Championship Series. And the Aaron Judge-steered roster displayed a tiny glimpse of potential to break their 13-year-slump against the mighty Astros. But the result was anticlimactic, to say the least. The Houston Astros cleanly swept the Pinstripes in the first four games.
Balanced against that, after another postseason exit, Yankees manager Aaron Boone arrived at the Bronx for a press conference. During the press conference, the former infielder spoke about the Astros dominance over them in the postseason.
Angry New Yorkers lash out at Aaron Boone, again…
In the press conference, Aaron Boone spoke about the ALCS loss and the Astros’ dominance. He said, “But this year I think, and again every year is a little bit different, we haven’t been able to beat them [Astros]. We need to slay that dragon. And we haven’t done it yet. And that hurts, and it’s also a motivating factor to try and continue to get better and work.”

Boone continued by saying, “But I look at the Astros team this year and whether it’s there four starters that they’re rolling out there and then the depth and health of their bullpen right now. That’s where they’re I feel at their best right now.”
He added, “And them having some obviously great positional players sprinkled in there. But you know, this Astros version is a little bit different from the teams they’ve had in the past.”
On the other hand, fans looked past Boone’s “excuse” and continued their campaign toward the firing of Aaron Boone and General Manager Brian Cashman. This is how they reacted:
Dear God, why keep bringing Houston as our white whale? Cleveland, Cleveland! was a game away of eliminating us. This team needs to become athletic, younger and focus on contact not in homers. Boone is under qualified and we have 5 years of results to prove his process.

Lets be honest here, As long as Boone and Cashman are with the Yanks the losing will continue 13 years isn't long enough I guess…..

I like Boone, but the more he keeps saying IKF is “one of the best short stops”, the more I’m changing that opinion.

The Astros play team ball and they do it consistently. Their approach is better overall.

You know what happens when you make the same turns around the same corner? You end up at the same spot. Can’t with this guy

Without a SS, without a Catcher, without a 3B, and whithout a LF, even The Pirates can be a dragon against you.

The Yankee fans looked visibly frustrated with the recent performance of their team.
Where is the World Series placed right now?
As the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros travel to Texas, for the remaining two World Series games, the Astros rank as favorites. After producing a no-hitter in game three, they managed to win games four and five and managed a significant comeback in the World Series after being down 2-1. Now, the World Series stands at 3-2 with the Astros on top.
