New York Mets just dominated the game against the Oakland Athletics. Their series opener was a thrilling game for more reasons than their 17-6 win. The Mets scored six runs on five walks and then one hit in the second inning. Not only that but three innings later, they did it again – six runs on four walks, a hit batter, and a knock. Shortstop Francisco Lindor played like a superstar, but there was one player that rather disappointed fans – Japanese sensation Kodai Senga.

The pitcher whose ghost forkballs reportedly leave batters traumatized, was off his game today. Senga is an MLB rookie this season but started off with a solid performance. In the game against the A’s, however, he allowed seven hits and even a couple of home runs. But the 30-year-old still got respect from fans who put up ghost signs to honor his classic move. However, later in the game, they were confiscated by security and Mets fans were not happy.

Since the game took place at RingCentral Coliseum, security was provided by the A’s. The ghost signs were put up by a sports illustrator and graphic designer organization called Athlete Logos. Ardent Mets fans just wanted to show support for the team and didn’t know the posters could be problematic.

Many condemned the A’s for what they called a ‘pathetic’ move.

Some made jokes at the expense of the organization’s security.

What an unfortunate situation!
