As of late, the New York Yankees have come across many Aarons in the team. From team captain Aaron Judge to manager Aaron Boone, there was also Aaron Hicks. While Hicks is no longer a part of the team, Judge will be here for the next nine years with his $360 million deal. Not to mention the prestigious title of ‘Captain.’ And for better or for worse, Boone seems to be a permanent fixture too.
While most managers get flak from fans, who would rather see things happen differently, Boone has lately come under more fire. One thing fans love to mock is how his ejections seem to be racking up in number. Nevertheless, he was chosen as the man for the job after 13 seasons in MLB, and one of those was spent in the Bronx. And he was recently reminiscing on the good ol’ days as he took up a bat again.
While Aaron Judge recovers, Aaron Boone has still got it

Boone played in the big leagues from 1997 to 2009, while his year in Pinstripes was 2003. Having spent the majority of his time in Cincinnati with the Reds, Boone came to the Bronx and helped the team during a pinch. During Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, the former infielder hit a walk-off home run in the 11th inning. He helped the Yankees win against their archrivals, the Boston Red Sox, thereby prolonging their ‘Curse of the Bambino.’
The New York Yankees’ official Instagram recently posted a story that showed Boone in the batting cage, bat in hand once again. The short video shows the manager hitting a ball in great form, and the caption reads, “Still got it.”

Since Judge is healing from a toe injury after crashing into the bullpen gate at Dodger Stadium last week, could this Aaron be what the team needs? Ironically, in yesterday’s game against the Red Sox, the Yankees lost 2-3. While their captain’s timeline is murky, there’s another who is returning.
Harrison Bader’s return to New York Yankees happening sooner rather than later
Much like Judge, Bader’s return from the injured list is not fixed. Friday was the first day the center fielder became eligible to come back after a hamstring strain. While the Yankees have not activated him yet, Bader told the New York Post that he doesn’t think a rehab assignment will be needed.

“I don’t want to waste any time. If I feel good and I feel confident, I want to go out there and help this team win,” he said. Boone hasn’t given a clear answer on either of their returns. But fans are eagerly awaiting to see their beloved sluggers back on the field.
