29-Year-Old Outfielder’s Bizarre “Sandcastle” Skill Leaves Fans Spellbound as Diamondbacks Cruise to Victory

Arizona Diamondbacks are having one great season this year. With 44 wins in their corner, the D-backs are leading their division and in the top three of the entire National League. Most recently, D-backs started their three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers and wrapped it up with a win of over eight runs. However, moments before the former cruised to victory, a bizarre sandcastle of their 29-year-old star player left the fans spellbound. 

While the Snakes are on their way to having a far better season than the last couple of years, their left fielder, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., lives in two different worlds.

With an above batting average of 0.280 and 11 home runs of the season, Gurriel Jr. is showing an outstanding performance at the plate. Most recently, not only did Gurriel Jr. help his team to win its 44th game of the season, but he also stole the show with sandcastles.

When the winning team was about to wrap up the game with 8-1, a clip of Lourdes building sandcastles with a cup went viral on Twitter. Moments after the short clip of the slugger building sand sculptures hit social media, it started to win hearts. Notably, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Twitter handle also shared the masterpiece created by the designated hitter of last night. 

Baseball fans could not help but pour out their feelings on their left fielder’s art and also on his performance that gave the win at the American Family Field.

For those unversed, Lourdes made his MLB debut in the year 2018 with the MLB franchise Toronto Blue Jays. After playing for the Blue Jays for five full seasons, he got traded to the D-backs in the 2022 offseason. So far, the trade has worked out for the Arizona Stars, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the fans.
