Doug Mientkiewicz was part of the star-studded New York Yankees team in 2007. He played with some legendary players like Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter during that season. Interestingly, Doug knew Alex personally, as they both played together in the past too. Yes! They were part of the Westminster Christian High School baseball team based in Florida.
Recently, the 2004 world series champion with the Boston Red Sox, who also played with the Yanks, shared a few stories from the past related to Rodriguez from their time together in high school. He called out Rodriguez for many things.

Given that both played together for years, the world expects a strong understanding between the two. But this is not the case, and in the latest interview, Mientkiewicz spoke about this situation. He said that Rodriguez has never cared about the people around him and always distanced himself. Mientkiewicz shares that A-Rod has completely forgotten about his teammate, who he had a lot of success.
Jokingly criticizing Rodriguez and focusing on the importance of the teammates, He states, “Never forget your high school dudes. Like, that’s just like your high school, and your college teammates are like they’re brothers till the end.” Mientkiewicz then talked about the habit and ignorance of Rodriguez not taking an interest in important meetings.
He adds Rodriguez was sleeping during one such celebration, “I have a picture of him sleeping at the table and his temporal shirt. I’m like, are you serious? “Mientkiewicz then talked about how his relationship with his former teammates is different. He shared, “I’m still friends with my high school team. We still text often, not as often as we should, but we still text group threads, constantly bad badgering each other.
But this is not the first time Rodriguez has faced heat from his former teammates. The list includes Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada.

Pasoda even criticized MLB’s decision of including Rodriguez in the Hall of Fame. It certainly has been a ride for Rodriguez on and off the field. The latest comments by his former teammates add another chapter of his critics in his life.
