Carlos Correa has had an eventful last few weeks of free agency. The All-Star shortstop has seen deals with two teams get confirmed and then hit roadblocks due to medical issues. The first was a historic 13-year $350 million deal with the San Francisco Giants.
When that deal hit a roadblock the Mets swept in and offered Correa a 12-year $315 million deal. But the Mets also raised the same issue with Correa’s medicals and the deal stalled in recent days. This put Correa in a difficult position as he wasn’t able to get a deal done for so long. But there is no need to worry as the All-Star is currently finalizing a deal with a team. The surprising thing is that the deal is not with the Giants or the Mets.

Good for the twins. Wanted him on the Sox but Minnesota deserves a good team, and honestly, glad it’s not a NY or Cali team, lol.

But fans doubting whether the deal will happen is not surprising. Both the Mets and Giants found issues with Correa’s medicals and fans suspect the Twins will have the same issues. But reports say that the Twins are unlikely to find the same issues as they are most familiar with Correa’s health.
What medical issues did the Giants and Mets have problems with?
According to MLB.com, “the issue is regarding Correa’s surgically repaired lower right leg.” The All-star shortstop fractured his right fibula in 2014 and underwent surgery to fix it. This has reportedly raised concerns with the Giants and Mets over Correa’s long-term health.
