Aaron Judge lavishes praise on the Yankees rookies once again

Anthony Volpe, who is yet to make his MLB debut, is brewing quite a firestorm in baseball at just 21 years old, leaving even veteran players from other teams in awe of him. It’s no wonder then that Aaron Judge, the captain of the Pinstripes, has taken notice of the rookie’s incredible skills. During a recent victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in a Spring Training game, Volpe was at the center of the action, leading the team as their lead-off hitter.

When asked about Volpe’s performance, Judge couldn’t help but lavish praise on the young sensation. “He’s had a great spring so far. He’s putting the ball in play, making the plays on defense, hustling, great at competitive at-bats. There are a lot of things to play here in New York and those are some of the intangibles. Excited to see, at whatever point he’s up with us, what he can do for us.”

Anthony Volpe put together yet another phenomenal performance over the weekend. In an impressive 8-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, the rookie hit a triple, double, and single in his first three at-bats, coming up just shy of hitting a home run. 

The New York Yankees are yet to officially declare who will take on the role of shortstop in the upcoming season. With the string of outstanding performances the 21-year-old has been displaying, he might just be the one to earn the spot over Oswald Peraza and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
