Aaron Judge made big news in the MLB circuit recently by re-signing with the New York Yankees. Remarkably, he has now also got the honorable responsibility of the Yankees’ captaincy. In one of his latest interviews, the MLB icon thanked his wife, Samantha Bracksieck, for influencing his decision. However, Judge’s teammate Anthony Rizzo has put in some additional notes as to how he played a part in the matter as well.

In a recent interview, Rizzo made a big revelation by taking credit for bringing Judge back into the Yankees camp. According to Rizzo, he sent pictures of their dogs together to Judge to make an emotional mark. Rizzo requested his fellow Yankee not to leave so that their dogs don’t have to separate. Upon learning this fact, MLB fans expressed their opinions on the topic.

Close friends Judge and Rizzo are both going to become teammates yet again. They became free agents at the end of the season. But they also re-signed and extended contracts with the Yankees in the offseason. First up was the southpaw Rizzo, who re-signed with the Yankees on November 15, through a two-year $34 million contract.

The megastar Judge followed next by re-signing with the Yankees on December 7th, through a whopping nine-year $360 million contract. Judge was also in talks with the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres. However, Judge rejected the Padres’ larger offer of a 10-year $400 million contract underlining his focus on legacy. But Rizzo’s significant participation in the entire incident has also come into the spotlight now.

According to Sports Illustrated magazine, speaking on Judge, Rizzo said, “I did send him a couple of pictures of our dogs together—because we both have dachshunds—saying, ‘We can’t break them up!”
