“Get a Real Manager” – Enraged Yankees Fans Lash Out at Skipper for Controversial 10th Inning Move In Gut-Wrenching Loss

It has been an action-packed 2023 season for the New York Yankees. They started off the season with a bad run of form, but have since managed to overcome it. Furthermore, they have picked up some big wins in the process. But during their most recent game, they squandered a golden opportunity and lost it in no time.

The Yankees have scripted a remarkable comeback into contention for the playoffs. With some crucial series of wins such as the one against the Sand Diego Padres, this has been possible. But they ended their series win over the Seattle Mariners with a loss over a bad coaching decision.

New York Yankees lose amidst questionable coaching decision in the 10th inning

The Yankees suffered a heart-breaking 10th-inning defeat at the hands of the Mariners. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 10th when the Mariners won the game. But Bronx Bombers skipper Aaron Boone is drawing a lot of flak for his decisions during the top of the 10th inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, he sent out Franchy Cordero to pinch-hit for Kyle Higashioka. Cordero struck out swinging, with the Seattle-based team winning in the next inning. Talkin’ Yanks shared a video on Twitter of the Yankees being set up to score in the 10th inning.

In a Tweet, they said, “Crawford boots one and the Yanks are set up!” But two outs and a Cordero strike-out later and the Bombers’ hopes of scoring were dashed. The Mariners sealed the victory with a walk-off hit and got a consolation after the Yankees took the series. Many questioned why Boone did not put in Anthony Rizzo to bat.

The reactions to the Yankees’ loss have been mainly negative.

Some fans went after Boone for not pinch-hitting Rizzo. 

Other fans mocked the team for the loss. 

It was a blow for the Bombers as they fought hard to stay in the game. The pitching was sensational from the team, but they failed to put runs on the board. Furthermore, fans are after Boone despite his turning around the Yankees’ fortunes and getting them on track for the postseason. 

Boone has done well with an injury-ravaged squad

Despite harsh criticism and heavy scrutiny, Aaron Boone has managed to turn around the Yankees’ season. They were struggling and at the bottom of the AL East. But Boone has managed to make a remarkable comeback with the help of team captain Aaron Judge. Furthermore, he has done so with an injury-ravaged squad. Although this latest result hurts, it will be interesting to see how Boone leads the Bombers going forward.
