Mike Trout has had an eventful season thus far, to say the least. The Los Angeles Angels star has had a good year and was on track for a postseason berth. But an injury earlier this month has seemingly derailed those playoff hopes. However, even after suffering an injury, when it comes to giving back to society, Trout continues to be an inspiration to the younger generation.

Most recently, his inspiring act came to light while he continues to fight back his injury. And it is just one of the many occasions where the Angels slugger is expressing his kindness.

Mike Trout has met and interacted with fans regularly during his time in the Major League. But this year, he made a kind gesture while spending time with a special fan. Every year, ESPN has a “My Wish” series, where inspiring children who battled or are battling critical illnesses meet their sporting heroes. Mots recently, a top Angels fan page called AngelsWin.com shared that the team would be a part of this series on Twitter. While doing so, they also revealed Trout’s special interaction with a 6-year-old child with a heart condition.

In a Tweet, they said, “Eli, a six-year-old with a heart condition from Corsicana, TX, met Mike Trout earlier this season and the feature will air on SportsCenter throughout the day.” Trout’s episode will be shown throughout the day starting at 5 am Pacific Time. It is a beautiful gesture by the star outfielder as he brightened up a special fan’s day with his actions.

But this is not the only act of kindness he has been involved in this year. Earlier this month, he spread joy to a cancer patient ahead of surgery. This comes at a time when Trout is battling his own injuries and hoping to recover soon.

Trout is out for a few more weeks

Mike Trout underwent surgery in the first week of July after fracturing the hamate bone in his left hand. At the time, a projected recovery period of 4-8 weeks was announced, devastating the Angels. In the time since then, the team has slid down in the standings and looks unlikely to make the postseason. Furthermore, the chance of Shohei Ohtani being traded slowly increases with every loss. It is truly a precarious situation for the Angels, as Trout looks set to miss a few more weeks with his injury.
